About Anchor Ranch Alpacas, LLC

Anchor Ranch Alpacas is located near the tiny town of Eagle Point, Oregon, about a mile from the Rogue River, legendary salmon, trout, and steelhead, fishery. Here, one will find a small, well cared for, herd of Huacaya alpacas of impeccable bloodlines.

Anchor Ranch Alpacas was conceived in April 2003, built from scratch as an alpaca ranch and opened in November 2003. The ranch is owned and operated by Richard Smith and Sharon Vail who retired from the Naval Aviation community with 50 years of service between them. Commitment to excellence is a way of life to us.

The alpaca ranch at present has a small foundation herd of ribbon winning animals with Peruvian heritage. Among the represented bloodlines are names like, AFA Royal Peruvian Valor, PPPeruvian Royal Fawn, PPPeruvian Yupanqui, PPPeruvian Felix, PPeruvian Camilio, PCA Accoyo Chimborazo, Peruvian Bueno and Peruvian Hemingway.

The written word pales by comparison to the actual "hands on" visit, where one can see, feel and experience alpacas. Please contact us, we would be happy to answer any questions you may have or better yet schedule a time for you to come visit.
